The double-flute upcut spiral bits provide fast and clean waste removal, particularly using them for mortise and tenon joints, rabbeting, grooving, slotting, dados and end milling. They are far superior over the regular straight router bits - they last longer and have more clean cut.
Up cut bits are very efficient at evacuating chips from the hole or slot it is cutting.  This is especially important when the hole is 6mm deep or more. That's why they are ideal for mortises.
